Greetings everybody, my name is Joao and I’m from Brazil. I’d like to go to college because I want to learn and to be prepared to perform my job with excellence and resourcefulness. The college will be a very important parcel of my learning, therefore; I will be very focused and determinate.
Just like I want my college to be a great place in which I’ll learn a lot, I suppose the college will hope the same of its student, but I believe this is not going to be a problem.  I have some studying qualities: I like the taste of the knowledge, I work hard and (thank Sean) I’m good at academic writing.

In the article “The Early Bird Gets Bad Grades” written in January 14 of 2008, the author wants to convince the readers that starting the school activities too early is bad and not efficient.  Using facts and researches the author argues first that the teenager’s schedule does not fit in the actual system the schools are using, also showing researches that prove that this wrong schedule can cause serious health problems such as attention deficit and hyperactivity.
In the second statement the author, again, uses a fact that happened in Kentucky. In this story, the schools delayed the classes beginning and the statistics of car crashes diminished. In my opinion this fact doesn’t have relation with his argument and if it had it wouldn’t be enough to convince me.
The Third statement shows that can be negative points; if the class beginning is delayed their ending also has to be but the author finishes the third statement trying to convince us to make this concession.
In my opinion, although some of the author’s arguments weren’t very strong, his overall message convinced me successfully.
